Chief Executive Officer – Holtz Companies

Tom is the Founder and CEO of Holtz Companies, the overseeing company of Holtz Builders Inc. (HBI). Tom directs all activities of the company and leads by example in maintaining a culture of honesty, transparency, and integrity. Tom’s philosophy in life is simple – treat others with kindness and give generously.  Tom follows these beliefs everyday by giving back to the communities he works in, both financially and with his time.  He has a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector, and a deep appreciation for what he has to share with others, and as such is an advocate and supporter of area nonprofits such as  Sleep in Heavenly Peace, local Boys and Girls Clubs, area Food Pantries, Agrace, and many, many more. 

Tom has been in the building business for over 30 years and has overseen hundreds of projects from waterparks, large multi-family units, simple and complex remodeling to high end residential, hotels, restaurants and other large commercial buildings.

President- Holtz Companies

Dan is the President of Holtz Companies, the overseeing company of Holtz Builders Inc. (HBI). He oversees all the activities of the company. Dan obtained a bachelor’s degree in Administrative Management from the University of Wisconsin Madison Business School and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where he earned the Graduate School Honors Award, while running a few businesses with his family. He started working at an early age and has a strong work ethic. Dan enjoys sharing his experiences and helping lead others to success.

Dan has owned businesses, worked in the State Capitol, and worked for a large, national construction and manufacturing company before joining HBI. He shares in the HBI values and appreciates the award-winning culture!

Director of HR and Community Development, SHRM-CP

As Director of Human Resources & Community Development for Holtz Companies, Trina has a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and is commited to organizational success through our greatest asset — our employees.  With a comprehensive understanding of HR practices, talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development, she and her team work to strategically align HR initiatives with business objectives, ensuring a harmonious and thriving work environment.

Trina has a degree from University of WI – Madison and is a proud Badger! She is the current president of Sauk Columbia SHRM, sits on the board of directors for the WCW Boys and Girls Club- Baraboo, and chairs their largest fundraiser.  She is also a member and past president of the Portage Rotary Club and a recipient of the Paul Harris Award.

Trina grew up attending schools all over the country and attributes her enjoyment of meeting and knowing new people to always being the new kid. In her free time, Trina loves traveling and spending time with friends and her two adult children.

Partner and Executive VP – Tennessee & Florida

Rick is a Partner and Executive Vice President of Holtz Builders Inc. In 2016, he joined the team in Wisconsin, and in 2020, he made a vital decision to move his family down to Tennessee to manage the daily development, operations, and financial aspects of the organizations’ projects and services and soon thereafter the Florida’s branch. He has a wealth of knowledge in construction.

He started his career as a journeyman carpenter with 25 years of hands-on experience, 11 years as a commercial construction superintendent, and more than 15 years in construction management. He holds various OSHA certifications as well as formal supervisory training.

Rick was a military police officer and thought he would hold a career in law enforcement. He took a job in construction for the first time in 1993, and has loved being in the field ever since.

Vice President of Business Operations

Ruthie joined the HBI team in 2018 as a Project Assistant and with energy, enthusiasm, and dedication, she was able to work her way up as a Project Manager, Operations Manager, and into her current position as our HBI-Tennessee Vice President of Business Operations. Ruthie uses her experience in creating positive direction to oversee, plan, and coordinate our operation activities in the HBI organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost effective systems to meet current and future needs of the Tennessee team.

Ruthie started her career in a completely different direction, studying Bio-Chemistry/Molecular Biology at University of Wisconsin – Madison when she met and married her husband and was blessed to be a stay at home Mom to their six children. Ruthie has over 15 years of construction experience, with having the opportunity to be involved in some amazing projects from Hospitality, Retail, Institutional, Municipality, and Custom Residential. She has a proven track record of meeting high expectations, managing multiple tasks, and delivering projects on schedule.

When not at work, Ruthie enjoys spending time with her family in the outdoors and sitting multiple hours on the sidelines of ball fields and gym courts. Ruthie and her family recently moved to East Tennessee, and she has fallen in love with hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains.
